Sarah is a BAFTA award-winning writer who has a colourful background growing up in a large family in Wales, Cornwall, and London, and a diverse CV, from working in a kebab shop, care home, packing tea, delivering cars and advertising. She attributes her varied experiences to her mainstay career as a screenwriter.

Sarah has written several award-winning short films that include SLEEPING WITH THE FISHES, which won a BAFTA, co-wrote critically lauded short MORNING, which was nominated by the European Film Academy and won an IFTA, and COCOONS, which was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award and won the Wolfgang Längsfeld Award for the Most Original Film.

Sarah is currently working on her screenplay MARY & VINCE, inspired by her experience having a father who worked as an undercover detective on the Flying Squad. Mary, a young girl, forces her estranged father to face his past when she hides in the boot of his car one bitterly cold winter’s evening and saves his life. She is also writing an original one-hour television sci-fi /thriller/love story, PROXIMITY commissioned for Sky Atlantic and Wellcome Trust.

Sarah is the recipient of a MacDowell Fellowship and Yaddo Fellowship in the United States, a Visiting Lecturer at University of the Arts London, and a co-founder of Tin Drum Pictures – a collective of female filmmakers (
